Brochure printing Sydney

Brochure printing and design in Sydney

Welcome to Fast Print Services, your trusted partner for high-quality brochure printing in Sydney. Brochures are a powerful marketing tool, perfect for promoting your business, products, or services. We offer a variety of printing options to ensure your brochures are both professional and eye-catching. Read on to learn about the benefits, types, and best practices for brochure printing.

A brochure is a great way to give more detailed information about your business, project, event, venue or idea to potential clients. They provide a tangible, visually appealing way to communicate with potential customers.

Our definition of a brochure is a flat sheet that has been folded to create a multi-page document. The way we name our brochures is by the finished size (after folding) and the PP is how many printed panels there are after folding. So a double sided panel is 2pp. Fold an A4 in half and you have magically made a 4pp A5 Brochure. Fold an A4 into thirds to make a 6pp DL brochure which is also called a ‘tri fold’ (we know – only 2 folds but that is the jargon!). Take a look at the folding options below for all your folding needs.

People often refer to brochures as pamphlets and leaflets. Perhaps you are looking for flyers or stapled booklets?

Brochure folding options

  • Bi-fold brochures are flyers that are printed on both sides and then folded in half, usually with a single fold down the centre. Therefore, an A3 sheet printed on both sides and folded vertically to create two A4 sheets is called 4pp A4.
  • Tri-fold brochures are flyers that are printed on both sides and folded into thirds. They are usually printed on an A4 (297 X 210mm) and folded twice to a 6pp DL (because the finished size is DL and each folded panel is counted as a page).
  • Cross-fold brochures are flyers that are folded vertically and then horizontally. This can happen several times (see crush fold below). A common example of this is an A3 sheet printed both sides that is folded in half, and then half again to creates an 8pp A5 brochure (cross fold).
  • Crush-fold/map-fold brochures are when you fold a cross-fold brochure over on itself, for example an A3 sheet printed both sides, tri-folded and then folded over again to create a 12pp DL brochure.
  • Roll-fold brochures are multi page folded brochures, opening outwards it rolls open, so that all the folds are in the same direction. Where the brochure is folded inward at one end it is then folded inward again and again.
  • Concertina-fold brochures, also known as z-fold or zig-zag fold, are simple zig-zag folds with 6-panels and two parallel folds that go in opposite directions. Each panel of the concertina fold is about the same size.

Specialty printing embellishments for brochures

  • Celloglazing is a thin laminate coating that not only makes your printing look and feel great it, makes your thicker and more rigid & increases longevity.
  • High gloss spot UV varnish is excellent for depicting single words, your logo or particular images.
  • Scoring makes folding easier on heavy card and reduces the chance of the ink cracking on the folded area.
  • Foiling is available in multiple colours but most common in metallic gold and silver for that regal look. Great on cards and flyers.
  • Die cutting simply cuts your brochure into a shape. Just about any shape is possible.
  • Embossing adds a third dimension to your printing.
  • Perforations make it easier for your customers to redeem your promotions by tearing out tickets.
  • Drilling is perfect for swing-tags & folder inserts, not just for fashion designers.

Tips for Creating Compelling Brochure Designs

Define Your Purpose

Clearly define the purpose of your brochure before you start designing. Are you introducing a new product, providing an overview of your services, or promoting an event? Understanding your goal will help you organize content and design elements effectively.

Know Your Audience

Tailor your brochure design to your target audience. Consider their preferences, needs, and interests when choosing colors, fonts, images, and messaging. A design that resonates with your audience will be more effective in capturing their attention and driving action.

Create a Strong Cover

The cover of your brochure is the first thing potential customers will see, so make it count. Use an eye-catching headline, compelling visuals, and a clear call to action to entice readers to open and explore the brochure.

Use High-Quality Images

High-quality images can significantly enhance the visual appeal of your brochure. Use professional photos, illustrations, and graphics that complement your content and reinforce your message. Ensure all images are high resolution to avoid pixelation when printed.

Focus on Readability

Choose fonts that are easy to read and appropriate for your brand. Use a consistent font family for headings, subheadings, and body text to maintain a cohesive look. Avoid using too many different fonts, as this can make the design appear cluttered.

Organize Content Clearly

Organize your content in a logical flow that guides readers through the information. Use headings, subheadings, bullet points, and numbered lists to break up text and make it easier to read. Ensure important information stands out and is easy to find.

Incorporate Branding Elements

Ensure your brochure aligns with your brand identity by incorporating your logo, brand colors, and fonts. Consistent branding helps reinforce your message and makes your brochure instantly recognizable as part of your brand.

Include a Call to Action

Encourage your audience to take action by including a clear call to action (CTA) on your brochure. Whether it's visiting your website, calling for more information, or attending an event, make sure the CTA is prominent and easy to follow.

Select Quality Paper

The quality of the paper you choose can significantly impact the overall look and feel of your brochure. Consider factors such as thickness, finish (glossy or matte), and color when selecting paper. Higher-quality paper adds a professional touch and enhances durability.

Proofread Carefully

Before sending your brochure to print, carefully proofread all content for errors. Check for typos, grammatical mistakes, and inconsistencies. Consider having someone else review the brochure as well, as a fresh set of eyes can catch errors you might have missed.

Perfect Paper

Why not take your printing one step further? Make yourself stand out from the crowd by selecting one of the many different paper stocks available; We hold a range of over 60 coated, uncoated and premium stocks in house and there are hundreds more we can source for you to choose from.
