Booklet Printing Sydney

Custom booklet printing for catalogues, manuals, magazines, reports and programs, with digital, offset, saddle stitch, perfect bound and wire bound options.

Custom Booklet Printing Sydney

Fast Print Services offers booklet printing in Sydney for catalogues, lookbooks, annual reports, magazines, manuals, programs and other multi-page documents that need a polished, professional finish. Whether you need a short digital run or a larger offset quantity, we can recommend the right print method, stock, and binding options for the job.

From saddle-stitched booklets for lighter publications through to perfect-bound and wire-bound options for more substantial projects, we produce booklets that are designed to look good, read well, and suit the way they will be used.

Booklet, catalogue, and magazine printing in Sydney

Fast Print Services prints custom booklets in Sydney for catalogues, manuals, magazines, reports, programs, lookbooks, training documents and other multi-page print projects. Whether you need a short digital run or a larger offset print run, we can recommend a practical production method based on your page count, quantity, stock, binding style and deadline.

Booklets can be produced as self-cover booklets, where the cover and internal pages use the same paper stock, or with a heavier cover for a more polished finish. Covers can also be finished with matt or gloss celloglaze, foiling, embossing, spot UV, Scodix or other embellishments when you want a more premium result.

The right booklet setup depends on the finished size, number of pages, paper stock, binding method and how the booklet will be used. Our team can help you choose between saddle stitching, perfect binding and wire binding so the finished booklet is practical, professional and suited to the job.

Our team uses advanced printing technology and high‑grade materials to produce crisp text, rich colours and a refined finish.

What is a booklet?

Our definition of a printed booklet is multiple pages that have been bound together to create a multi page document. The way we name our booklets is by the finished size (after folding & binding), and the PP is how many printed panels there are in the document. Books can be printed in colour CMYK printing or PMS Pantone spot colour inks.

Printed booklets for catalogues, manuals and magazines

Booklets are a practical format when you need more space than a flyer but do not need the complexity of a fully bound book. They work well for product catalogues, event programs, manuals, magazines, annual reports, lookbooks and training material where multiple pages need to be organised into a clear, easy-to-handle format.

The best booklet setup depends on the page count, the finished size, the paper stock and the way the booklet will be used. That is why binding choice plays such an important role in the final result.

Booklet Paper Stocks and Cover Options

The paper stock affects how your booklet feels, how easy it is to read and how well text, images and colour reproduce. A product catalogue, report, program, manual or magazine may each need a different paper choice.

  • Internal page stock: Lighter internal stocks are useful for larger page counts, while heavier internal stocks can give the booklet a more substantial feel.
  • Self-cover booklets: A self-cover booklet uses the same stock for the cover and internal pages, which can be practical for shorter publications and simpler jobs.
  • Heavier cover stock: A thicker cover can make the booklet feel more polished and durable, especially for catalogues, reports, lookbooks and presentation documents.
  • Gloss, satin or matt finishes: Gloss can help colour and images feel more vibrant, while matt or satin finishes can be easier to read and give a more understated look.
  • Uncoated and recycled stocks: These can suit workbooks, educational material, journals, forms or designs with a softer natural feel.
  • Cover lamination: Matt or gloss celloglaze can add durability and improve the presentation of the cover.

If you are unsure which stock is suitable, send us the page count, finished size, quantity, artwork style and intended use, and we can recommend a practical option.

What We Need for a Booklet Printing Quote

To quote your booklet printing job accurately, it helps to know the finished size, page count, quantity, binding style, stock, artwork status and deadline. If you are unsure about any of the details, send through what you have, and our team can recommend a practical option.

  • Finished size: Let us know whether you need A4, A5, A6, DL, square, custom size or another finished format. If the booklet needs to fit a folder, envelope, display stand or event pack, include those details too.
  • Total page count: Tell us the total number of printed pages, including the cover. Saddle-stitched booklets usually need page counts in multiples of four.
  • Quantity: Let us know how many booklets you need. Smaller quantities are often best suited to digital printing, while larger quantities may be more cost-effective with offset printing.
  • Binding style: Tell us if you prefer saddle stitch, perfect bound, wire bound or spiral bound. If you are not sure, we can recommend an option based on the page count and use.
  • Stock preference: Include any paper stock or cover stock preferences if known. If not, we can recommend suitable internal pages, cover weights and finish options.
  • Black and white or full colour: Let us know whether the booklet is black and white, full colour, or a mix of both.
  • Cover finish or embellishments: Tell us if you want matt or gloss celloglaze, foiling, embossing, spot UV, Scodix, die cutting, drilling, perforation or other finishing.
  • Artwork supplied or design help needed: Let us know whether you have a print-ready PDF or need help with design, page layout, cover setup or file preparation.
  • Deadline and delivery postcode: Include when you need the booklets and where they need to go. This helps us confirm whether pickup, Sydney courier delivery, express production or packed freight is the best option.

The more information you provide upfront, the faster we can prepare a clear booklet printing quote and recommend the best production method.

What Do Our Clients Think?

Booklet Binding Options

Binding plays a big part in how your booklet functions, so we offer a variety of options. Saddle‑stitched booklets, where pages are stapled along the spine, are perfect for slimmer publications such as event programs and promotional brochures. Wire‑bound manuals and spiral‑bound reports are ideal for training courses or sales presentations that need to lie flat and allow pages to turn smoothly. For thicker documents that require a polished finish, our perfect bound booklets deliver a sleek square spine and a more substantial feel. No matter the binding style, your pages will be secure and aligned neatly.

  • Saddle stitching: A practical option for thinner booklets. Double staples along scored sheets of paper form the traditional saddle stitched booklet. Remember that each side of the page counts as 1 so we need the total page number for booklets to be in multiples of 4. Saddle stitch binding works best for between 8 – 36 pages (any thicker and we find the books don’t fully flatten)
  • Perfect binding: A polished option for thicker booklets. This is where multiple pages are cut and glued to form a spine. We recommend a thicker cover for a perfect-bound booklet, and the glued spine provides a professional look and finish. Perfect binding is great for lookbooks, annual reports, and catalogues. We recommend perfect binding for between 12 - 100 pages.
  • Wire binding: Wire binding is perfect for regularly used manuals or reports, student worksheets, and reference manuals. We use a high quality twin loop wire bind and a clear acetate front and leatherette reverse. Wire binding is excellent for a few to a few hundred pages. We have a large range of black, white, and gold wires to fit all sizes! You can even wire bind with a hanger to make a calendar.
  • Not sure which binding to choose? Send us the page count, finished size, quantity and intended use, and we can recommend the most suitable booklet binding option.

For hard-cover books, case binding, thesis binding or specialist book binding, see our dedicated Book Binding service.

What to Consider Before Ordering Booklet Printing

A good booklet needs to be easy to read, well organised and matched to the way it will be used. Before ordering, it helps to think about the purpose, page count, layout, imagery, paper stock, binding method and artwork setup.

  • Purpose: Start by deciding what the booklet needs to do. A product catalogue, event program, training manual, school magazine, report or lookbook will each need a different structure, size and finish.
  • Page layout: Plan the booklet so the information flows clearly from section to section. Use headings, subheadings, page breaks, images and bullet points to make the content easy to scan and understand.
  • Images and graphics: Use high-resolution images, illustrations and charts that support the message. Low-resolution images can look soft or pixelated when printed, especially in catalogues, reports and image-heavy booklets.
  • Fonts and readability: Choose fonts that are easy to read and suit your brand. Keep font styles consistent across headings, body copy and captions so the booklet feels professional and easy to follow.
  • Branding: Include your logo, brand colours, typography and visual style where appropriate. Consistent branding helps the booklet feel connected to your other marketing, signage, stationery or digital material.
  • Paper stock: The paper choice affects how the booklet feels and performs. Lighter stocks can suit larger page counts, while heavier stocks and premium cover papers can create a more polished result.
  • Binding method: Choose a binding style that suits the page count and use. Saddle stitching works well for thinner booklets, perfect binding suits thicker publications, and wire binding is useful for manuals or workbooks that need to lie flat.
  • Cover finish: Covers can be kept simple or upgraded with matt or gloss celloglaze, foiling, embossing, spot UV or other finishes. The right cover finish can improve durability and presentation.
  • Artwork setup: Supply print-ready artwork with pages in the correct order, high-resolution images, embedded fonts, CMYK colour and bleed where required. Perfect bound booklets may also need a correctly calculated spine.
  • Proofreading: Check all text, page numbers, contact details, captions and image placement carefully before printing. For larger booklets, it is worth having more than one person review the file before approval.

If you are unsure which format, stock or binding method is best, send us your page count, finished size, quantity, artwork status and deadline, and we can recommend a practical booklet printing option.

Booklet Finishing Options

Booklet finishing can improve the look, durability and usability of your printed booklets. Finishes can be applied to both digital and offset booklets, depending on the stock, binding method, artwork and production timeline.

Options may include matt or gloss celloglaze, spot UV varnish, embossing, foiling, die cutting, scoring, perforating, PMS colours, rounded corners and hole drilling. Some finishing processes may add extra production time, so it is best to mention any special finishes when requesting a quote.

  • Celloglazing: A thin matt or gloss laminate applied to the cover to improve presentation, add durability and help protect the booklet from handling and scuffing.
  • Spot UV varnish: A clear gloss coating applied to selected areas of the cover, such as a logo, title, image or pattern, to create contrast and highlight key design elements.
  • Foiling: Metallic or coloured foil can be applied to selected areas of the cover for a premium finish. Gold and silver foil are popular choices for reports, lookbooks, event programs and high-end presentation booklets.
  • Embossing and debossing: Raised or recessed details can add texture and depth to the cover. This works well for logos, titles, patterns and premium brand elements.
  • Die cutting: Custom cutting can be used to create shaped covers, windows, tabs or special design features. This can help a booklet stand out, but usually requires additional setup and production time.
  • Scoring: Scoring creates a crease line to help heavier cover stocks fold cleanly and reduce cracking on the fold. This is especially useful for thicker booklet covers.
  • Perforating: Perforations can be added where a page, coupon, form, ticket or response section needs to be torn out neatly.
  • Rounded corners: Rounded corners can soften the look of a booklet and reduce sharp edges, especially on smaller booklets, premium guides or frequently handled pieces.
  • Hole drilling: Drilling can be added if the booklet needs to be stored in a folder, binder or presentation pack.
  • Special PMS colours: PMS colours can help match brand colours more accurately than standard process colour, depending on the print method and quantity.

If you are considering specialty finishes, send us the finished size, page count, cover stock, binding method, artwork and deadline. We can confirm which booklet finishing options are suitable and allow for any extra production time.
